Reading on the beach in March

Look at these two having a lovely time on the beach at Porth Colmon on the Lleyn last weekend. They were on holiday from Liverpool. March is a good month to explore the Lleyn beaches before the crowds arrive.

Whistling sands/Porth Oer

Here we are folks, this is Whistling sands on the Lleyn Peninsular last weekend, what an amazing place. The sun was so warm and the beach sheltered from the wind. My days of going abroad have dwindled since I discovered my own wonderful CYMRU.

Mothers day is coming

Im taking my mum to Aberdovey come rain or shine on Mothers Day for a walk on the lovely long sandy beach. We will then go to the "Caffi Ceunant" in Abergynolwyn for a BIG Sunday lunch. Its a great place to eat, good wholesome food at reasonable rates. After which we will continue along the shores of Talyllyn, trying to avoid the motorbikes coming the other way on my side of the road. Then god willing we will drive down to Dinas Mawddwy and brakes permitting, stop at Meirion Mill for a cup of tea and a scone.

Barmouth in November

Its the middle of November but yesterday in Barmouth there were people eating outdoors in the
cafes and restaurants on the harbour. The beach was scattered with people walking in the sunshine some with their dogs and hopefully their doggy bags....Ive always prefered cats myself.

Mawddach waterfall

This is the waterfall just a few yards away from "Ty Glan-Afon" in a beautiful valley above Bont Ddu near Dolgellau.Paradise found, and only an hour away from home. No parking fees, no jet lag, no baggage restrictions, no delays, no time wasted in the car, just crisp autumn frost, sunshine, log fires, fillet steak, miles of empty beaches and incredible scenery.
Welcome to Wales and the Mawddach Estuary.
